Jo is an experienced and enthusiastic teacher. She has a relaxed and fun approach to teaching, and over 8 years private tuition experience. Jo teaches students of all ages and abilities and is happy to prepare students for ABRSM Grades 1-8, Trinity-Guildhall Grades 1-8 and school exams, as well as University or Music College entrance auditions. Or you could learn for fun!

Jo can accompany her students on the piano for exams, concerts and for fun.

Jo also offers musicianship lessons, which provide a grounding for any children who are perhaps too young to learn an instrument. These lessons include singing, rhythm and listening games inspired by Kodaly, Dalcroze and Orff methods of teaching. The use of percussion instruments and movement will aid the discovery of rhythm and pitch, and piano skills up to ABRSM grade 5 can also be taught.

Jo's main aim in flute and musicianship lessons is to make music fun, so that students develop confidence in all walks of life and can enjoy music-making in all situations.

The lesson fees are: 30 mins - £15

  45 mins - £20

  60 mins - £25

  other lesson durations - negotiable

  full-time University students - discounts available

Jo is based in the Merchant City, in the centre of Glasgow.
