The Leven Duo is a highly professional flute and harp ensemble, formed in 2006 and based in the beautiful Lake District.
Jo Ashcroft (Flute) and AnnaKate Pearson (Harp) are available for weddings, civil partnership ceremonies, parties, drinks receptions and
corporate functions across Cumbria and the surrounding area.
AnnaKate Pearson (Harp) completed a Masters in Harp performance at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama, where she gained a BA(Hons) and Postgraduate Diploma in Performance. Through her years at the R.S.A.M.D she studied solo, chamber and orchestral repertoire under her tutor Karen Vaughan (co-principal of the LSO). She played with all the RSAMD’s orchestras throughout the six years, four years as principal harp, including tours around Britain and the RSNO Scottish Proms. She has been involved in master classes with distinguished harpists such as Kathleen Bride, Frances Kelly and Natalia Sheymeyeva.
Her chamber music performances include a trio recital in St.Andrew’s University, 2006. She has also been involved with 'Side-by Side Concerts' with the Hebrides Ensemble in Berio's Folk Songs and various new compositions.
She has played with orchestras in and around Glasgow, Edinburgh, Stirling, Cumbria and Liverpool including playing with the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra and Scottish Opera Orchestra. Through her orchestral experience she has performed in many different venues including the Glasgow Royal Concert Hall, Edinburgh Festival theatre and Glasgow Theatre Royal.
Since 1999 AnnaKate has been playing regularly at weddings and functions in various locations in and around Cumbria and Scotland, including Lancaster's Ashton Memorial which hosted a Cancer Care Charity Evening in the Presence of Sophie, Countess of Wessex.
